Memorial Day

Look all the siding is done on the house!! yeah! isn't it lovely? We are still finishing the posts and the beam on the porches.

The closets, doors, trim are mostly done.

Pantry closet in the kitchen

paint is mostly done. (need the garage and a little touch up)

We drove up to visit Wayne's family on Sunday afternoon. They went camping at Rock Creek. The kids had lots of fun playing with their cousins. It was nice to get away, its so beautiful up there :)

I told the girls not to get wet cuz we didn't bring extra clothes, of course Megan is the first one in! They didn't get too wet though... ;) Its great to be a kid!

Ellie was having fun finding rocks and sticks!

Thank goodness Aunt Stacey had some graham crackers to share and a lil chair.
On Memorial Day we worked on digging the water line, and wiring some electrical outlets. Anna wanted to drive up and put flowers on Gpas grave. I told them some memories I had of him, it was a nice day. I wish that we could've made it out to Ogden too.

time is flyin!

Boy the time has been flyin by! This house is progressing really fast and we are getting pretty excited to move into it!! :) The mud and texture went up.

I painted a couple of samples on the wall to choose a color. I picked out a few paint chips and asked Wayne for his input, he liked them both but then when I painted them on the wall he was all surprised: Gray?..... Yeah I said, remember looking at paint chips... anyway we all liked the darker one the best.

Our adventure in Salt Lake buying the wood floor.... we should have brought the truck!

Shopping for lighting.

David's last couple of weeks at preschool. He had a great year with Miss Jeri! :) We went on a feild trip to the city building. David was asking lots of questions at the police station, and was really silly at the fire station with his uncle Ryan ;). Aren't the giant bubbles awesome? Graduation was super cute, he sang cute songs and told about a favorite book. I told him it was summer vacation and he was really excited. He kept asking when we were packing our suitcases and getting on the plane! ;)

house stuff

The first week of May:
Cement floor poured in the garage
Insulation blown in
Posts put on the porches

All the sheetrock hung

Sheetrock hung, cleaned up.. ready to start the mud

Wayne and I started the siding/soffit. We worked on it part of the day Saturday and then a few weeknights after work. We all had the flu over the course of the 2 weeks where we had to finish the rough electrical and start the siding. So between Wayne not feeling well and extra stuff going on with the kids we didn't make it to far. I did climb up on the scaffolding (even when it was stacked two braces high) and help. It was very scary and overwhelming and kind of discouraging. After a lot of thinking about it we decided it's just too big of a job for us right now. So we decided to hire a crew and they got working the very next week.

Mothers Day

I am so blessed to have the opportunity to be a mother to these wonderful children! We have been enjoying nice weather: playing outside, visiting the park and having picnics. :) Only 1.5 weeks till school gets out, then we can all have lots of fun!! I love the spring time.

She is getting big, such a cutie! She is proudly walking all around and saying her first word "Hi". She loves being outside.

David makes her laugh, and they are all such good helpers taking care of her.

Anna and Megan had their Spring Dance recital. It was a very special one celebrating Roosevelt Citys 100th birthday. The dances were all about things that were happening in the world 100 years ago. Megans dance was about the mail service, sending packages around the world. It was a cute little song: "I'll wrap myself up, put a stamp on me and send myself to you."

Anna had two dances: The Brightest day and the Train station. She is getting to be a better and stronger dancer.

On Saturday I was able to attend my good friend, Kristen Hoschouer's wedding. I'm so happy for her, she seems very happy and has married a really nice guy. It was a beautiful morning at the temple.

Love the Spring flowers

I had to take a picture of this old tree that sits near the temple. Wayne and I sat here on the day he asked me to marry him. Its a special little tree to me. Its getting old, and is being supported with some braces :( hang on lil tree....

I don't know any of the other girls that are her friends. Some are roomates or others she has met moving around the country. I'm glad to be included though, and so happy for her.

Roses from Wayne :)

Cute poster Anna made for me, she also gave me a really nice letter and a coupon book.

Cute card from Megan

Anna painted this picture. It was a really nice Mothers day, the kids sang some cute songs at church and we had a BBQ with the Clayburns.

A really BIG job

I am so proud of Wayne for all his hard work on the electrical for our house. It has turned out to be a really big job, bigger than I realized for sure! The last couple of weeks have been brutal, especially the last several days. We are feeling really tired, but good that at least the rough in stuff is done. We have spent countless hours: planning, nailing up boxes, cans, wiring, shopping for parts and wire, making mistakes, fixing mistakes, learning, growing, stressing out, and figuring it out. We have had so much great help from family and friends, and we wouldn't have been able to get it done without all their help and support. A really BIG Thanks to Adam who spent several nights after work and his Friday and Saturdays off helping out. He helped a TON!!! Thanks too to Steve, Dad, Stacy, Ryan, JR and Brandon, Mike, Wayne McMullin and Kevin Miglori. Everyone pitched in and helped so much. Now back to bragging about my dear husband.. He is such a hard worker and sacrifices so much to provide for and take care of us. The last few nights he has been working till after 11:00, coming home to finally get something to eat, shower and get to bed. What a trooper! He wants to make sure everything is done the best that it can be. And has worked so hard. I'm sure there might be some mistakes, but we will figure it out. His boss has been very understanding and he has taken off 5 days of work. Like I said its been a big job! Would we do it again? I'm not so sure, but I defiantly have a greater appreciation to all the trades in the construction work force. I told Wayne I'm going to love all the lights and power in our house and appreciate them a lot more too. I can think of him and how much he loves us every time I turn them on :) Cheesy I know, but there is some satisfaction in knowing that we have had our hands in part of this dream of ours coming true. I love that he wrote our Kids' names on the circuits of power for their rooms, they have a very special Daddy!
