Welcome to our family Ellie

We welcomed Ellie Marie to our Family on Saturday March 3, 2012 at 6:34 pm.
Her day of delivery is a story that we will always remember, both because it was crazy and because it was wonderful. Saturday morning we had planned to get up and work on some spring cleaning before the baby arrived. Wayne was helping put away some food storage and sneezed, causing severe pain in his back. He limped into bed, and stayed there for a few hours. We decided to go see a Dr. and ended up in the ER. Wayne could barely walk into get there and ended up laying down on the waiting room floor. It was a relief that his Mom and Dad came to help. The ER Dr. gave him a steriod shot and a shot of morphine for the pain. He felt better for a little while, but when we wheeled him out he started to have a great deal of pain agian, and had to lay down in the back of the car to get home. He took some Lortab and crawled back into bed at home. By the time I had some lunch and put David down for a nap it was 3:00. I layed down by Wayne and started to feel some strong contractions. After about 20-30 mins I decided I better start timing these contractions and maybe do something about it. I called my Mother in law and sister in law. They came and got the kids and Connie drove me in to the hospital. I was teary and emotional leaving Wayne, but felt like it couldn't be helped. He was nauseus from the pain medicine and still hurting. I knew it would be very hard for him to try to make the trek in again. After that I really didn't have much time to think about him missing it all. It was scary and a little sad, but I knew the Dr. and Nurses and Connie would help me get through it. And most of all Heavenly Father blessed me so that I could remain calm and have strength to bring our precious little girl into the world. I was blessed to have familiar faces to help, a mother in law who remained calm and helped me be calm and get through the pain, and a fast labor. Everything went really smooth and well.
Wayne had his brothers come give him moral support and the Bishop and our Home teacher came and gave him a blessing. We stayed in touch on the phone. The next morning he was able to come in and meet her. He has been resting and improving, he had an MRI and it looks like he has a herniated disc, we will probablly have therapy and work through it.

Gma was a little late for the delievery too, her flight home from Fiji landed in Salt Lake at 7:30ish on Sat. She called right away and I was able to tell her all about it. So happy to have her home to meet her newest grandchild!

Big brother is pretty excited about his cute new baby sister!

The girls were also able to come in and meet her, they were so excited! The hospital brought them cake and Ice cream for a birthday celebration!

Girls are lots of fun!

Getting ready for Baby

We have been getting ready to welcome our little baby girl. I fixed up a corner in our room for her. It was fun finding some things at the dollar store to brighten it up. I also made a new cover for the changing table, and little blanket for the bed.

I found this wonderful printable on Pinterest and painted a frame and mat we had, turned out cute!

The girls are excited, they love her little corner. They felt a little bit left out that they didn't get new decorations and things, so I told them about how before they were born I made and bought things for them. Then we got out the scrapbooks and looked at their baby pictures, they loved it!
I also made this little paper chain last week to 'count down' the days before my due date. We each predicted when she will be born. On each strip is a little activity for us to do together. IT's been so fun! We read books about sisters, watched a princess movie, played babies, played "American Dolls" (ours aren't the real thing, but we call them that), played legos, read valentine books. Just simple things but fun to do ;)

Anna's doll all dressed up:

Megan has to hold the hair out of her eyes.

And Megan wanted matching hair dos. Girls are so much fun ;)! David has been busy playing hot wheels and monster trucks with Daddy, but also loved playing babies and legos with us.

The girls had so much fun decorating the toy rocking horse and taking pictures of it.

Megan set up a Valentine Tea party for David and I, complete with bagels, pretzels, invitations, and sign. :) She is so much fun, It's nice to have her home still in the mornings!

Valentine Fun

We have been having fun getting ready for Valentine's day at our house. At the end of January the girls made little mailboxes and every day since then they get a little Valentine. They have really gotten into it, and race home off the bus to check what surprise is waiting. They have also enjoyed making little valentines and leaving them for each other. I have had fun passing the time with little projects too. I made this cute decoration out of paper plates glued to ribbon ;)

Yesterday Anna and Megan had fun making little Valentine robots out of conversation heart boxes and random candy.

I had also had fun finding some cute Valentine decorations for my little shelves. We don't have a lot of good places to decorate, but I carve out a little bit... it makes it fun for the kids and me.

We also made our homemade picture valentines to give away at school. They turned out pretty cute!

And one last little valentine from the whole family:

Twins Baby shower

I have been planning a baby shower for my good friend, Kadee, who was pregnant with twins. We both found out we were pregnant at the same time, due almost the same day! It has been fun, she lives in Lehi so I haven't been able to see her. But I wanted a good excuse to go spend some time together, so I asked if I could do a shower for her. It has been so much fun finding ideas and getting ready for it. It really helped January go by for me.
I found the cutest idea (on pinterest, my new addiction!) for a Thing 1 and Thing 2 baby shower. These little onesies will have to wait several months....

I love the diaper cake idea, I recieved one when I had Megan, and thought it was the best idea ever. I have given several since then. They are so easy and fun to make.

The cupcakes look cute... I burned the bottoms though! and just a note if anyone makes these. I used cotton candy for the crazy blue 'hair' topper, but it totally melts into the frosting, so don't put it on until just before! We also had a yummy blue punch. It was kind of hard to find a recipie, but here's what we ended up with: 1 pkg. Berry Blue Koolaid, mixed according to packet, with almost 2 liters of sprite (enough to make 1 gallon altogether). Poured over pineapple sherbet. It was good!

All the guests had their pictures taken in a Dr. Suess hat/wig, and signed/wrote comments in a Dr. Suess book.

It turned out to be a fun shower. Kadee has awesome friends and family I was very impressed. The hardest part though was Kadeee wasn't able to be there. She delivered her twins at 33.5 weeks on Friday morning! Hunter and Preston were both a little over 4 lbs, and about 18 inches long. Poor Kadee had been in and out of the hospital and labor since Monday. Both the babies are doing quite well considering. They seem to be pretty healthy and strong. It was amazing to see them, and think about what my baby looks like right now. They were very precious. Kadee will probablly be able to go home from the hospital today though she is very tired. She has great family and friends that will help her right now, I am so grateful for that. The babies will have to be in the NICU for 3-5 weeks learning to eat. I feel so thankful that it all worked out for them, and will keep praying for the challenges ahead. I can't imagine the craziness of twins, and the heartache of leaving them in the NICU. Kadee is strong (she is a NICU nurse too)and she will be(is) an awesome Mom. I'm so glad she's my friend! :)
I really don't like this picture... but I am thankful for my health and that she's still cooking for a few more weeks!

Megan's 6th Birthday

We celebrated Megan's 6th birthday last week on Jan. 6. She had a lot of fun and got spoiled rotten! We love having Megan in our family, she keeps us laughing and having fun. She is learning so much at school and getting taller by the day.
David and Mommy took some cinnamon doughnuts into her class of Friday for a treat, her teacher gave her this cute birthday crown and they sang Happy Birthday and played heads up 7up. Then we picked up Anna, and one of her friends sang "Happy Birthday to you, You live in a zoo, you look like a monkey and you smell like one too!" Megan and Anna thought that was really fun, and it was repeated several times....

We invited our cousins Dakota and Courtney to come over for a sleepover on her birthday, and had lots of fun! We made penguin pillow pets, watched Mr. Popper's Penguins, ate pizza, played with Squinkies (bday present from gma) and played Just Kidz dance on the wii. Lots of fun!

Saturday night we celebrated with more family at Jumpin Jive'n in Vernal. Megan's cousin Ethan has a bday on the 8th so it was a double party! The kids loved the bouncy slides and houses, lots of presents and a big rainbow sucker cake. It was so much fun, thanks everyone for coming!

Spoiled rotten!! She had to play with something Saturday night at 10 when we got home.... good thing our church is at 11 now. ;)
