Week 3 building

This week the main floor was framed and the cement porches were poured. It's been a fun and exciting week. Next week we should get the 2nd story framed!

David just hanging out while Wayne worked on installing our meter box. We are doing our own electrical with the help of an awesome electrician in our ward. Wish us luck!!

Our cousins and gma and gpa showed up just in time to watch some excitement. We watched as the cement truck poured! :)

Week 2 building

We started drilling the well. Wayne's unlce is really good at 'witching' water. He came with a dozen wet willow forked branches. It is crazy but I think it must really do something. He had me hold a branch and walk with him. The branch twists and moves when there is water... Wayne tried his hand at witching too. There's gotta be water! Our driller has drilled many in just our little valley, so I'm very hopeful. The ground is really soft and sandy so we have to have more pipe casing to get down in the ground.

Here's the big dirt pile that the kids love to play on. It is now gone... we have already backfilled around the foundation and are working on framing and power. :)

The foundation getting the forms taken off, before we backfilled.

Our lumber was delivered, the trusses should come by the end of the week.
And hopefully it will all be framed within a couple weeks.

We are glad to have Grandma and Grandpa back from Hawaii, they brought us yummy macadamia chocolates, and fun t shirts. Grandma also got these cute hulu costumes for her dress up box ;)

Week 1 building our House

We started building our House last week, yeah!! It has been going really fast, I'm so glad that we decided to hire a contractor. I don't think I'd be sleeping at night if I had it all on my shoulders. The first couple of days they did the excavation. There is a big pile of dirt that the kids love to climb on and play. We plan to use a lot of it for backfill and build up around the house.

Heres our official sign! :) I love how it says future home of Wayne and Stacy Clayburn, exciting!!

They framed up and poured the footers, then the last several days they have been framing for the foundation. The cement pump truck will be here tommarow, then the next day they will start framing. Our contractor is so organized and on top of things! She says we should be able to close and move in June 12, crazy huh?!!

I went to take these pictures today before they pour the cement and take it all down, and it is so windy here!! Thats spring in the Uintah Basin :(. But when I drove down to take the pictures and got out of the car I was so surprised at how sheltered and nice it was there. Its really protected by the massive grove of trees... those russian olive trees just might be growing on me ;)

Isn't this a pretty little tree all pruned up? Hopefully we can keep it and it won't be in too much of the way during construction. Wayne has pruned up a few more, and we plan on keeping a fair amount. I'd take a picture of the pruned up little grove but currently there is a porta potty there... ;)

David loves playin in the dirt there. He even layed down in it wanting to do a 'snow angel', I made hime stop! crazy kid.

They could play for a long time here. A couple of times when I've come down and there is a big crew of guys there David really thinks its cool... "Why do they talk that Spanish way mom?" lol.

My cutie pie's new playground :) Isn't she sweet with her baby?
Well thats been our busy week. We miss Gma and Gpa, glad they are coming home today!

Our Disneyland trip!! :)

Wayne said I should plan something when the kids had a break from school to go somewhere warmer.... So this is what we did!
Kind of a last minute trip (I booked it about a week and a half before we went). I kept it a surprise from everyone (Wayne guessed a few days before when he saw me buying mickey mouse t shirts).
I checked the girls out early from school and we were off. It was a long drive, but we broke it up stopping at Las Vegas on our way through both ways. And we survived with some fun new coloring books, stickers, and activites.
We finally made it to Disneyland about 1 pm on our 1st day. We are all decked out in our cute Mickey stuff... couldn't convince Wayne to get even a Mickey hat... but he did get a California one. We had fun looking at everything and going on a few rides.

Finding Nemo submarine, Autotopia cars, Buzz lightyear, Space Mtn, Teacups amd Splash Mtn.
We had fun visiting Toontown and had Minnie and Mickey sign our backpacks/lunchboxes.

Anna and David don't like scary rides, but they love the teacups!!

Megan is our thrill seeker, she loved Space Mtn and probablly rode it 6 times. :) Mommy and Daddy like it too!
They had fun playing at Tarzan's treehouse. Anna was a good climber!! She loved doing it.

The 2nd day we went to California Adventure. We thought we had an early start getting there just a little after the park opened....wrong! The lines for the Cars ride were already way long. We waited for about 45mins to ride on Mater's junkyard jamboree. It was fun, we would have done it again if we didn't have to wait... the kids aren't so good at waiting. But we survived. We met a nice family who told us a better way to go to get to the Temple and beach so that was good.

David was pretty excited when we finally got to go on the ride!

Cars Land is pretty cool, we were lucky to get to see it!

Next we headed over to Bugs Life land. The kids liked all the little rides, they didn't like th 3d movie, with special effects but I sure did!

Wayne and I both went on the Tower of Terror. Megan was going to but she saw the little Twilight Zone movie and it scared her, so she changed her mind. We treked across the park to go on some more rides. This little umbrella stroller got used and abused, our spoiled kids!! Daddy was a trooper, he'd push the stroller but wouldn't wear the Pink Minnie mouse backpack ;).

Ice Cream!! It was such nice weather, we all got a little hot!

We found Buzz and Woody, and Wayne and I went on a fun roller coaster. The girls rode the carosel, then Wayne and I got seperated and couldn't find each other for awhile.. (my cell phone died). We found each other though.

And we rode on the Little Mermaid, a cute little ride.
Then we went over to the Red woods challenge course. They loved climbing around the rope bridges, and going on slides. Anna and Megan both rode on the "fire jump" a little zipline. Then we had fun on Soarin Over California, Anna even got brave and went on it. The girls and I rode it a couple of times, it was so fun. It felt like you were flying over all the California landmarks. It made Wayne a little sick though. We enjoyed watching the World of Color Show and then went on the Toy Story ride... it was a long day, but lots of fun. The next day we went to The Los Angelas temple and to Santa Monica beach. It was a beautiful day, with very nice weather, we even played in the ocean a little. The beach was a pretty one, and I'd like to visit there again someday. :)

David's first time at the beach, he was pretty excited. The waves made him nervous, so he played in the sand more than the water.

Doesn't this beach look fun with the peir and amusement park. There are lots of hotels right on the beach too... maybe another vacation one day!

For our 3rd day at Disneyland we had a magic morning pass to get in an hour before the park offically opens. That was so nice, we didn't have to wait very long to go on Raidiator Springs. David was thrilled to get a green car!! He was barely tall enough to go, and after he was pretty scared, it goes fast! But it was fun, the girls loved it and went again with Wayne. (He had to go park the car and didn't come in with us..) We did have FREE parking the whole time (we parked at our hotel and walked the block to the Toy Story parking lot and used Disneys shuttle bus...cheap I know.)

David didn't want his picture with Lightning McQueen because he was still upset about the ride... oh well, I sure wanted my picture ;)

The whole cars land is pretty cool!

What a cute Lightning McQueen Mickey mouse hat!!

David loved the Star Wars stuff (he's never even seen star wars... but to him robots and guns are cool)

Our little Minnie Mouse cutie! She loves Minnie Mouse!!

Its a small world, last ride of the trip :)
