Our little cowgirls and lots of updates

Wayne and I went away for a nice weekend in Midway/Salt Lake and my parents were kind enough to take care of our children, THANKS gma and gpa! Anna and Megan had a nice time, the weather was lovely. Grandpa was working with his horses, and he caught our good old Cookie. She is named after a peanut butter cookie and was the horse that I rode for 4H, a good ol gal. Well of course I was pretty surprised that Anna was brave enough to ride her on her own. Megan had to also, of course. They both said they need cowgirl hats and boots. Anna said "She trotted, and it was fun, and I have to pull back and tell her whoa!" Megan tells me "You have to hold on one hand on the horn and one hand on the reins" Wow, my little cowgirls! I posted a lot today so bear with me...

David is 4 months old!

My how the time has flown! David is now 4 months old. We went in for the check up on Friday. He weighed 14 lbs! It is still just below average for weight but Anna wasn't that untill 9 months. It is great to see him growing and changing. He is sleeping through the nights pretty well (sigh). He is grabbing toys and loves to sit up and look around. These new chairs are so cool for that. For the most part he is a very good baby. He will let you know if he's hungry or tired but that is totally normal. He had some immunizations and we also had Anna's kindergarten shots done. That was quite dramatic. She has been talking about it for about a month. "Mommy I don't want to go to kindergarten, I don't want my shots." So she hid under the chair and cried and screamed. But with the great help at the Dr.s office it was over with and forgotten pretty quickly. She did act like she couldn't walk that day. But the next morning she said "My band aids are gone my shots are all healed up." David fussed for a little that afternoon but then he was pretty good.

Who looks like who?

I personally think that as far as family looks and personalities Anna is more like Wayne and Megan is more like me. What do you all think?

st. patricks day fun

We found a cute little book about St. Patrick's day. Megan loved it and we probablly read it about 10 -15 times. Anyway I decided to have fun with them on St. P day. We had green shamrock pancakes and green eggs for bkfast. Then we made sure we were wearing green. Even to dance class and a bday party (green ribbon in hair). Then they followed a trail of green hearts to a pot of gold! (wands, flowers for hair and gold wrapped suckers/fruit snacks) Finally we all pinched Daddy (no green) when he got home!
When you are a kid, or even a big kid, St. P day is pretty fun.

dancing

Anna and Megan are taking a little Dance class. They absouletly love it! Anna can't wait for her "pa formence". Megan often says "I'm so lucky to go to Dance class", it is the highlight of her week. Today the class was canceled due to some scheduling at USU. They were sad, but then they asked if they could put on their "leah tarts" and dance. They do a little dance "Caps for Sale". Their teacher is always incorparating children's literature and is so creative. For a 3 and almost 5 year old they are mostly having fun, but its great for them to practice following instructions and get some energy out.

Anna's pictures

Anna loves taking pictures! She'll say "do you want me to take a picture for your blog?" Of course she is most interested in taking a picture of her toys, books, videos, david and just random everyday things. Most of the pictures are definatly deletable (sure love digital!). But looking at these pictures I realize how one day it will all be a memory of raising my kids and then I probablly will miss the simple little things. So I hope that now I can take some time to try and see things through my children's eyes and enjoy it a little more.
