Water Fight!

My nephews helped me clean up my yard today, then we had a fun water fight! (more cleaning up after ;))
We started out with some water guns and water balloons, and some forts to hide behind. Then we got a little smarter and started using some bowls and buckets and hoses and sprinklers. What a fun time, we sure got wet!

David was loving it! He was right in on all the action. Earlier in the day we were working on a craft and he got into some blue fingernail polish. I guess he thought it was for his eyes! I washed out what I could, guess he's just gonna have to wear it for a while.

Anna and Megan weren't so into the whole water fight, but had fun watching and running and screaming! Anna discovered her tactic: sneak and turn off the other team's hose!

Here is the other fort, it only got used for the first couple of minutes. I did put the camera down and join in on the fun, bringing back lots of memories of my water fights with Tony. He always got me good. Poor Logan took the brunt of it, but had fun anyway. It was a cooler stormy day. We had rain, wind, hail, lighting all night long after. It has been a really good week!: swimming at Rec center, and in our pool, watching a movie outside with our projector, playing the Farming game, and the Wii, and hunting for Ising glass.

Tuachan

We had a fun time a couple of weeks ago visiting St. George and attending Tuachan. The drive down wasn't too bad, we had a nice picnic along the way, the girls had fun feeding some seagulls. We met up with Angel and Emily and Gma, Jan and Katrina at the hotel, had some yummy pizza and went to The Little Mermaid.
They had a cute place to take a picture again...

The show was excellent, with lots of water, special effects and wonderful costumes.

The next day we had fun swimming and shopping and then getting ready for Grease. We made little Pink Ladies shirts for the girls, they turned out so cute!
We are all ready to go see Sandy and Danny.

We had a nice picture in front of the hotel Sunday morning before we left. The Abbey Inn was so nice, updated and had the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in! It was a wonderful weekend, Thanks so much Mom!
Our drive home was a couple hours longer than we anticipated when we met up with an accident in Provo canyon. We were all glad to make it home safely.

Swimming

We enjoyed our pool for the first time this year. Its been pretty cold, but with our solar cover heating up the water for a week it wasn't too bad!
Megan was so excited when she realized she'd grown tall enough to touch the bottom this year. She still loves floating around in her 'tubey' too!

This little guy was the first one in! He loves it, and was jumping right off the ladder. He got a bloody nose, and had to get out for a minute, but he didn't even cry and wanted right back in!

The girls love making 'trains' and playing 'motor boat'.

This is my favorite train with my 3 favorite kids!!

Big boy learning how to kick and paddle and get around our little pool :)

I am loving this weather!! Its a little cool but we'll take it. It took me 2 hours to mow my lawn this morning with all the interruptions so I was really ready for a swim, Anna took a picture of me, but that one won't make the blog...
She did take a picture of my beautiful poppy. This was in my grandma's yard and we transplanted it a couple of years ago. It's huge and so fun!

Summer time lovin!!

Camping at Moon Lake

We had a nice weekend camping at Moon Lake with our friends the Snows. We went last year and had so much fun we had to go again. The lake was so low! They have drained it in anticipation of all the water from the snow melt this year.
I don't ever remember it being that low. Wayne fished a little and caught a couple of fish, but there were several people fishing and catching. It was a little chilly but really just right for camping. One of the best things: almost the entire campground to ourselves.

We took the little hike around the lake (as far as we could make it anyway)

The little river wasn't so little. It was so big compared to last year. Megan held her hands over her ears because it was roaring so loud. They were all a little nervous, but I wanted a picture on the bridge to compare to last year.

We also had fun painting egg cartons for 'nature collections'. I should have taken a picture of all the treasures we found!: flowers, pinecones, rocks, a little blue hatched egg, 'mud balls', sand, old corn cob. ect...

David loved our little camping trip! He had so much fun having some boys to play with. He gathered wood, threw it on the fire, played sword fighting (until we got them to hit the trees instead of each other) and was just one crazy wild little guy! Here is is showing Mommy his 'sharp claws'

Scratching the tree with his 'sharp claws'

The trucks and dirt kept him busy for hours! Of course he ended up covered in dirt from head to toe too...

We went on a little hike around the lake. He walked more than last year, but still got carried a lot.

David and His fun playmates making silly faces!

We walked down to the Lake and played on the 'beach' The kids had so much fun!
Getting Muddy....

Playing with the foamy bubbles (we always called in Indian soap)

Megan likes to pose lately...

She made some 'mud balls' for her nature collection... don't tell her they didn't make it home. ;)

Lots of fun making a pool of water and a mud cake. The adults sat and watched and didn't worry too much about all the muddy mess. I did give the kids a little bath in the camp trailer (so nice to have hot water when we are camping! :)
We got a little sunburned and bug bitten, but it felt so nice to be out enjoying the great outdoors!

Birds

We are having a fun summer watching birds in our yard. Sunday we were swinging and noticed a bird kept flying over our heads, sure enough she had made a nest on our swing set!

Just enough room for....

this...

The kids climbed a ladder with Moms help and checked out this cool little nest. "She did a good job making that nest" Anna said. It has put a temporary stop on our swinging, but we keep busy climbing trees, making huts, swimming and having fun. We've also been doing some research on the internet about birds and coloring bird pictures. Life is good.
