Our Visit to Nauvoo

For Thanksgiving we went to visit Lonnie and family in Illinois. While we were there we were able to drive to Nauvoo. It was a special trip and we will always remember it. The river at the end of the "trail of tears" in Nauvoo.

While there we were able to do a session in the temple.

We all learned about the hard work and incredible sacrifices that the saints made. The kids all got little red bricks, candles, "prarie diamonds" and a souviner from Grandma. Here we were able to see behind the scenes in the kiln where the missionaries make the little red bricks.

What a wonderful trip! I wanna go! It's on our trip wish list...how was it with young kids? We were holding off until they were a little older. Looks like they enjoyed it. That's so good to know!
