Megan

David is also a little couch potato! He loves watching TV we have trained him well... When we went camping a few weeks ago he was so upset when he woke up from his nap, I could not calm him down. I finally realized he wanted to watch TV. Silly boy! Wayne snapped this photo of him glued to the tube, scrunched up in his favorite place between the bean bag and the TV cabinent.

 

Megan is really fun lately, she loves getting her picture taken... I know I can hardly believe it! She loves to go shopping with Mommy at "Wralmart". Anna and her have been earning toys and prizes for doing jobs, so shes figured out I'll buy things if she says "For the prize store".

 

It's so great to have her back to just about normal with both arms. She is doing really well and almost has full motion back. The Dr. thought she'd be able to do it all on her own, and she really has. Little kids are amazing! Sometimes we forget that it was even ever broken.

 

We started preschool this week. She is enjoying that, we had a fun week learning about apples and alligators, and playing with friends. She has missed Anna a little a couple of times after breakfast or lunch she'll say "I'm going outside to wait for the bus to bring Anna home."

 

Picking Peaches

We had a fun time picking peaches in Neola at the little orchard. Grandma Mecham took us up. The people that run it are so nice, we tasted lots of yummy peaches, filled our box and had a fun adventure. David really liked the dog.

 

We had to do some searching to find our favorites, but they are sure yummy!

 

The girls wanted to pick their own, so we had to find some that were low enough for them too. A lot of peaches had been blown onto the ground, it was a windy afternoon.

 

The Hut

Wayne and the girls have been working on clearing out a little hut in the russian olive forest near our house. For family home evening Anna wanted to roast marshmellows at the hut. We had a fun time.
David loves walking around the little trails in the "hut". He throws a fit when we have to leave.

 

Anna also loves building and creating the hut. She loves the adventure and being outdoors. Of course she loves smores too. She had a great idea to build a double smore! She also started 1st grade yesterday, she is really growing up. She had a fun day and wasn't even a bit tired. She did say that they "had to do a lot of 'discussion' and she just wanted to work on a paper or something."

 

Megan loves having her picture taken lately, she just wanted to keep posing at the hut and taking pictures. Tommarow will be six weeks since she broker her arm and we will be finally cast free, hopefully! She is scared and nervous to get her cast off and "bend" her arm. She thinks a cast for the rest of her life would be just fine! Not hardly! I will be very happy when she can dresss herself again!

 

Wayne loves having fun with the kids. He really enjoys creating things for them to play with and do. He did do an awesome job pruning up these trees to make it a nice little place in the hut. I'll have to take better pictures. Tommarow he will start Woodbadge. I am sure it will be really good, but we will miss him for the next few days...

Here's the yummy double smore! Mom and Dad joined us and Dad said he thought that was the best smore he ever had! Poor guy must be getting deprived with all the dieting going on around here!

UBIC Parade

Anna rode on the Stars float at the parade. She was so cute, and excited to see us waving at her. She said she saw lots and lots of people she knows, and wanted to make sure I had taken a pictue to send to Grandma. We still had plenty of time after she was done to watch the parade and chase the candy. Some nice buisnesses even handed out creamies. Perfect for the very hot morning! All in all it was a very good week. I also sold some things at a booth thanks to my friend Nikki Batty who sales really cute purses. I sold a fair amount... every little bit helps! But I still have a ton of stuff, so it looks like I'll have to sell it at the fair this week. Come and say hi if you're there.

UBIC

Its been a few years since we've been to UBIC. It was a fun new experience for the kids. We went on Friday night to watch Anna dance with the Stars. Megan was also dancing with Stars until she broke her arm a few weeks ago. This week she got the pins taken out and a new hard cast put on. She was a very brave girl, and chose dinosaurs for her cast. She is doing well, and will be happy in 3 more weeks when she can get it taken off.

Our new little wagon sure came in handy at UBIC and at the parade. David hung out with Daddy at Uncle Ryans house for a little while, and barely made it back to see Anna's first dance.

 

Yes we also had a lot of rain this week, Can't keep him out of the mud. A typical day this week was having two baths and changing our clothes about 3 or 4 times...

 

UBIC Dancing

We have had a busy week of dance. Anna has been dancing with the Stars this summer. She has really enjoyed it and learned a lot. This week she preformed for UBIC on Monday, Tuesday and Friday evening. We are new to this kind of dance, so we learned a lot: it takes an hour to curl your hair, don't rub the makeup off your eyes, we have to wait a long time to dance sometimes, get up close to take a video, its fun to dance and be pretty! They danced to Elvis songs: Stuck on You and Hounddog, so Anna also learned who Elvis is, what an Elvis fan is, and some of the "kings" moves.

Here is the dance Hounddog, Anna is the farthest one on the left. She is learning so mucha and gaining more confidence with all of these opportunities to preform, and it has kept us very busy!
